Everything you need to know before your stay at the campsite

FAQ

Planning your stay at Camping Le Picard? Here you will find answers to the questions we are asked most often. Any other questions? Contact us, and we will be happy to help.

We love animals, but we have chosen not to accept them at the campsite, to preserve everyone’s peace and quiet and the small wildlife that is also part of the charm of Camping Le Picard.

Wild rabbits sometimes roam freely, and the ducks enjoy the peace of the pond. We want to protect this natural environment, while also looking after the comfort of our guests, some of whom may feel less at ease around animals.

It is a choice that matters a great deal to us, and one we have decided to keep for everyone’s well-being.

There are no sheep on the campsite, but you may sometimes spot some in the neighbouring fields. That is also part of the natural setting of Camping Le Picard: the Normandy countryside and its landscapes through the seasons. Birdwatchers will also enjoy the birds that can be seen around the pond and near their pitch.

For pitches:

  • Arrival: from 2 pm to 7 pm.
  • Departure: before 12 noon.

For cottages and the Coco-Sweet:

  • Arrival: from 4 pm to 7 pm.
  • Departure: between 9 am and 11 am.

Would you like to arrive early in the morning? Remember to book the night before as well, so that your pitch or accommodation is ready as soon as you arrive.

Late arrivals are not accepted. We want to keep the campsite calm and peaceful for everyone, especially in the evening. Please keep to the arrival times.

Yes, the pool is heated to at least 26°C, and it can be warmer depending on the weather. It is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Three key rules to know before you take a dip:

  • No lifeguard on duty : everyone swims at their own risk.
  • Children under 12 : they must be accompanied by an adult, even if they can swim. A brother or sister under 18 cannot take the place of an adult.
  • No swim shorts : only suitable swimwear is allowed.

For hygiene reasons and in line with the pool rules, swim shorts are not allowed.

Gentlemen, please bring close-fitting stretch swimming trunks, like the ones sold in sports shops.

Thank you for your understanding, and enjoy your swim!

Yes, from 1 May to 15 September. Order the day before at reception or directly using the QR code.

Your fresh bread and pastries will be waiting for you at reception the next morning, between 9 am and 11 am.

Yes! In low season, booking is essential, as the snack bar is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 7 pm to 9 pm.

You can book by email or through our digital welcome booklet.

In July and August, it is also a good idea to book ahead, especially for our themed evenings.

Yes, Wi-Fi is free throughout the campsite, on the FREE WIFI network or via the QR code on the noticeboard. The connection was upgraded in 2026.

Yes, the fishing pond is free for campers to use: carp and other coarse fish. Equipment is not provided. To protect the aquatic wildlife, all fish must be returned to the water after being caught.

There are no cycle paths starting right from the campsite. However, you can reach the Vélomaritime, the cycle route that runs along the coast, to explore the scenery and beaches of Normandy by bike.

As the coast cannot be reached directly by cycle path from the campsite, we recommend planning your route in advance.

You can book your stay directly online using our secure booking system, Secure Holiday.

The cancellation conditions are set out in our Terms and Conditions of Sale and you will be reminded of them during the booking process. Please read them before confirming your stay.

However, we do not have a cottage specially adapted for people with reduced mobility. Nor do we have any equipment to help guests get into the water or out of the pool.

Arriving on an overnight ferry? Remember to plan your booking accordingly! Pitches are available from 2 pm. If you would like to arrive at the campsite from 9 am, straight after your crossing, you will need to book the previous night as well. That way, your pitch will be ready as soon as you arrive.

Leaving on an overnight ferry? Pitches must be vacated by 12 noon. If you would like to enjoy the campsite for longer before catching your ferry, remember to book an extra night.

Lison station is another option for reaching the area. Remember to check connections and how you will complete the last part of your journey to the campsite.

In Tournières, pay a visit to our country butcher, one of the only shops in the village. Just a few metres from the campsite, the Ru Paisible farm sells its organic sourdough bread, baked in a wood-fired oven. The other nearest shops are in Le Molay-Littry, about 5 km from the campsite, including a supermarket and a petrol station.

Please note: the supermarket is closed on Sundays in low season. Plan your shopping ahead if you are arriving on a Sunday.

To discover local produce and the atmosphere of Normandy’s markets, here are a few markets nearby:

  • Le Molay-Littry: Thursday morning.
  • Bayeux: Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
  • Port-en-Bessin: Sunday morning.

Many campers, especially from the UK, choose to leave their caravan in storage with us between stays in Normandy.

It is a practical way to find your caravan waiting for you on your next stay and to come back and enjoy the area more easily.

This service cannot be booked online. For availability and conditions, please email us at lepicard14@orange.fr. You will also find full details on the page Our winter caravan storage.
